Account Executive - Credit

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to help drive CircleUp Credit’s lending product. We are looking for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment with the creativity and resiliency to deliver results and solve ambiguous problems. The ideal candidate will be excited at the prospect of defining the Business Development role with us, as we build out this brand new business unit.

CircleUp has pioneered a unique approach to investing by leveraging a world-class team of data scientists and engineers to build Helio, a powerful technology platform that tracks and makes actionable predictions on 1M+ private companies. CircleUp takes a quantamental approach to the private markets and uses Helio to enhance investment sourcing, evaluation, and value creation. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work within our newly formed Credit team to build our credit portfolio and refine the sales process
  • Manage an active pipeline of leads supplied by Helio, our proprietary data platform
  • Generate new business with clear and effective communication to prospects
  • Stay nimble and roll with the inevitable hiccups that come with new product development
  • Cold-call prospecting using consultative phone skills, including the ability to clearly articulate, inspire, project confidence, influence, overcome objections, and remain resilient throughout


  • Minimum of five years of prior sales experience in a high touch, direct sales environment 
  • Experience with outbound cold-calling
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles, terminology and concepts
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Clear communicator with ability to empathize with customers
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work fluently with large and diverse datasets
  • Highly proactive and an ability to work both independently and as part of the team
  • Exceptional integrity, highly intelligent and strong work ethic
  • Bachelor’s degree 

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with and passion for companies in the CPG space
  • Experience with asset-based lending and/or small business lending
