We are seeking a Head of Business Development & Partnerships to be a founding team member of the business. This person will help launch this new venture, source and onboard pilot customers, test and iterate on business hypotheses, and build out a team for scale. We are looking for someone with a data-driven sales approach, a mind for creative partnership, who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have the resiliency to deliver results, solve ambiguous problems, and help write the roadmap for CircleUp’s newest business unit for years to come.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a founding team member and key leader on our Insights business to drive a new revenue stream for the company
  • Evaluate new customer segments, the addressable market, the intensity of their need, and Helio’s product market fit.
  • Own the hiring and training of our customer facing team - business development, partnerships, account management
  • Design sales strategies, processes, and go to market approach to help us scale in a thoughtful, collaborative fashion
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with investing teams and the product team to optimize for CircleUp equity value

Requirements:

  • 8-12+ years of experience with a proven track record of strong execution in SaaS enterprise sales and management experience of a direct sales and partnerships team
  • Experience selling a data product, ideally within CPG or financial markets.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a rapid test-and-learn approach. Ideally comfortable working in a startup environment.
  • Passion for metrics, operational efficiency, and process; detail-oriented with the ability to work fluently with large and diverse datasets
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and quickly shift from high-level planning to day-to-day execution
  • A skilled project manager who can inspire the team while holding them accountable for performance.
  • Ability to think creatively to help us tackle new go to market approaches and new customer segments
  • Exceptional integrity, highly intelligent and strong work ethic
