CircleUp harnesses the power of machine learning and predictive analytics to discover some of the fastest-growing companies in the consumer & retail sector. Our mission is to help entrepreneurs thrive by giving them the resources and capital they need. We are building a predictive data system called "Helio" to bring the data-driven revolution that has occurred in the public markets to the private markets, starting with consumer & retail.

We are working on challenging problems in information retrieval, entity resolution, and machine learning. We are developing an in-depth knowledge graph of all private companies by mining vast amounts of data to successfully rewrite the rules on how private companies are evaluated.

CircleUp's Insights team is developing new ways to deliver insights to entrepreneurs, providing value to these brands at scale.  You will work directly with customers, refine a product vision, and produce a product and process that provides entrepreneurs with insights to help grow their businesses.  These entrepreneurs are current and future customers of our investment business lines.

Location: San Francisco, CA 

Responsibilities:

  • Envision, prototype and develop, with a Data Scientist, an Insights product that entrepreneurs value
  • Interface directly with entrepreneurs to understand customer needs and iterate on the product and delivery processes
  • Work cross-functionally with other stakeholders, including CircleUp's equity investing arms and CircleUp Credit Advisors, to deliver Insights to entrepreneurs at scale, thereby growing CircleUp's overall business
  • Influence CircleUp’s data strategy to incorporate unique data sources towards the development of insights. 
  • Work with engineers and data scientists to determine the trade-offs between modeling complexity and customer needs.
