At CircleUp, people are our most important asset.  We are seeking a Senior HR Director to lead and develop our HR strategies to ensure all HR operations are in order while delivering value to the organization as a whole. To be successful in this role, this individual must be comfortable taking on a wide range of HR tasks, partnering with leadership across the organization and executing efficiently to achieve outcomes in a fast paced environment.  This person will lead and supervise all HR initiatives, providing a consultation like approach to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training & development, budget, and labor relations, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver briefings to executives
  • Oversee an organization’s recruitment, interview, selection and hiring/onboarding processes
  • Evaluate and structure employee benefit, payroll, health and safety programs
  • Facilitate and monitor the implementation of standardized human resource processes
  • Establish and adhere to all internal policies and legal standards.
  • Effectively structure employee compensation benefits programs to attract and retain top talent (domestic and international)
  • Identify talent within the organization and work with career ladders/leveling to promote within
  • Lead the annual review process, including performance reviews, leveling and promotions
  • Work closely with Finance on all compensation matters
  • Oversee culture and team cohesiveness initiatives, such as planning team events, offsites, training programs and guest speaker talks.
  • Establish a regular cadence of employee surveys 
  • Lead the search for new office facilities and maintaining of CircleUp ethos across all locations
  • Be a prominent voice to the CircleUp community (internal and external) and communicate announcements and updates on behalf of the brand

Requirements:

  • Must be local to the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Previous experience working as a HR Director or HR Manager for at least 7-8 years
  • In-depth knowledge about local and international Human Resource Processes, employment legislation, and legal regulations
  • Understanding and experience with Employer Branding and Recruitment Marketing strategies
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of HR management
  • Experience with HR tools (Workday) and recruiting software (Lever)
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Supervisory experience
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) will be an advantage
