Josie Sotomayor

Josie Sotomayor joined CircleUp in March 2021 and serves as Head of People. Prior to CircleUp, Josie was Sr. Director of HR at Vera, a data file security company acquired by HelpSystems in 2020. Josie is passionate about creating a motivating and inclusive environment, where employees are encouraged to be themselves in order to reach their fullest potential. Josie started her career in education and has taken a coaching and mentoring attitude as she transitioned early in her career into People and Talent Acquisition. Josie has a B.A. from Grinnell College in Anthropology and a concentration in Linguistics. 

In her free time, Josie can be found hanging out with her two daughters or teaching herself a new craft. Previous arts and crafts hobbies include watercolor painting and sewing clothes.
