Karen Howland

Karen joined CircleUp in 2018 and serves as Managing Director of CircleUp Equity. Before joining CircleUp, Mrs. Howland served as an independent consultant providing financial services to small-to-mid sized consumer-centric companies. Prior to that, she spent over 15 years at top-tier international investment firms, including Citadel, Barclays Capital, and UBS where she held positions in the Investment Banking and Equity Research divisions focusing on the consumer and retail sectors in New York, London and San Francisco. Mrs. Howland was also the founding member of hedge fund Two Ocean Capital, which later merged into Citadel. Mrs. Howland received her B.S. from Tulane University and is a CFA charterholder.

As a mother of three under the age of 10, Karen has no free time to speak of.  She used to be an avid fantasy football player and remembers the day when she enjoyed international traveling.
